Goalkeeper Mathew Ryan of Australia has retaliated against Twitter of his club after the latter made fun of him on Twitter for a mistake he made against Argentina during the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
On Saturday, December 3, Argentina defeated the Socceroos 2-1 in the Round of 16, and Ryan’s vital blunder set up Argentina’s second goal. He attempted to dribble the ball out of harm’s way but instead was caught with it, giving Julian Alvarez the chance to seize the initiative.
Grabara, his teammate in Copenhagen, took a swipe at the goalkeeper on Twitter, writing:
“It must have been politics” with a smirking face emoji
The joke was made in response to Ryan’s earlier claims that club politics were to blame for Grabara replacing him in Copenhagen’s starting lineup.
The Polish player’s comments don’t concern him, the Australian international shot back at him. Speaking to the media following the defeat against Argentina, Ryan Said:
“I’m not surprised with you, to be honest. His opinion doesn’t really concern me.”
Many Twitter users came to Ryan’s rescue, praising his performance in the FIFA World Cup 2022. Additionally, he had consecutive clean sheets against Denmark and Tunisia.
Meanwhile, Fox Sports analyst Adam Peacock savagely insulted Grabara by calling him “Grubara.” Andy Paschalidis, a different football analyst, referred to him as a “computer fighter.”
The Polish international has only played once for the Eagles and is Wojciech Szczesny’s backup in the Qatar Cup.
Ryan, on the other hand, has 74 caps for the Socceroos and has started every game in goal for them at three straight World Cups.
Australia was ousted from the competition at the Round of 16, which is tied for their highest result ever. They were also eliminated at this level in 2006.
In the quarterfinals of the FIFA World Cup, Argentina will play the Netherlands.
On Friday, Argentina will play the Netherlands in the quarterfinals of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar to continue their quest for a third championship (December 9).
The Oranje are now unbeaten in 19 games and appear to be in excellent form, presenting the Albiceleste with their greatest challenge to date.
In addition to an exciting individual matchup between Lionel Messi and Virgil van Dijk, this matchup promises to pit an unstoppable force against an immovable object.
Argentina’s three goals in the competition have all come from Messi. In contrast, because to Van Dijk’s outstanding performances, the Netherlands have only lost twice in five World Cup games.
Can the game already start?
